@AlfA01 I see Koyo bearing listed alongside other manufactures by the World Bearing Association as INA, slacker, Timken, NSK, SKF, NTN and Nachi.
I would hazard a guess that a c-3 bearing from any of these manufacturers would be just fine.

Thanks Steve. I'm thinking these will do fine. They are C3. Made in Japan.

Lazy man’s way of mowing the lawn?

Good luck with the fires. Do you have to do some fire breaks or prep work?

We don't do much for fire prep as for as cutting. The highway department typically cleans the road sides to prevent vehicle and cigarette fires.

The gub'ment is just getting to the level after last years deadly fire of notifying people. I got several text updates yesterday, which is a first for us.

EDIT: Fire prep down here is up to the landowner and up on the mountain it's ran by the forest service. People get me to do some limbing and clearing back around their houses, but mostly in the Spring.

We use NSK and NTN all the time at work. I wouldn't be afraid of using any good quality bearing as long as it isn't Chinese.

...or a counterfeit by the Chinese.
Seems they have no problem making other companies packaging. Containers full of them have been seized. Question is how many made it to market and what brand was burglarized.
So...if you come across a deal too good to be true, it probably is.

SKF are more likely to be branded from fake ones... Smaller brand like Nachi not so much fakes. That's why I rarely use SKF.

I'll still buy them, but from a reputable source. Will have to avoid bargain hunting on eBay for a time. And certainly nothing wrong with using another branded bearing either.
I would like to think that once the package is opened that I could tell the difference, knowing what the real thing is like from a fake.
