My coworker aka "The Prodigy" would repair it that way.
My other coworker VaJayNa would repair it with brake cleaner and compressed air.
The Lord Of the Wrench would likely cry tears of oppression on it, as he is the best of the best of the best, but gets mad if it's more complex than a brake job.
Forkin millennials.....

God I remember the days I thought I knew it all. You will look back someday bud and realize how little you knew at the age you are at right now. It happens to all of us. Not meant as an insult. It's just a fact of life. Young fellers think they are the smartest mfers walking around. They aren't. I wasn't and and I held multiple certifications in diesel and auto mechanic in my state at your age. Experience trumps education. Just relax. We would ignore you if we didn't like ya. At least I would anyway.

Look at the frame. No rust proofing at all. I cant remember where it was built. Its a US truck by the tag. Maybe somebody that knows the VIN stuff can tell or I could get off my lazy ass and google it. Maybe Kentucky?
Kinda want to hit the frame with some POR15 and then a good under coating, but that takes prep and time I dont have.
300 6cyl in it or a small block?

I love me some 68-79 ferds. Both body style. Same with 68-72 Chevy trucks.

There is a 72 cheby all redone here in a burgundy sparkle
Only thing is its a long box stepside
Didn’t realize ya could get a longbox like that or has someone done some metalwork
It looks beautiful. 1/2 ton 4x4
