My coworker aka "The Prodigy" would repair it that way.
My other coworker VaJayNa would repair it with brake cleaner and compressed air.
The Lord Of the Wrench would likely cry tears of oppression on it, as he is the best of the best of the best, but gets mad if it's more complex than a brake job.

Ok, heres the culprit. Gasket came apart. Bolts werent really tight either. May have shifted and broke the gasket.

So far not too bad. Drive shafts and transfer case are out. Only used 10,12, 13 mm wrenches and sockets. Screwdriver. Hammer. Flashlight.
Now, if I can Jack the trans up a little bit, I might be able to take the trans mount bolts out of the piece I want off and slip it out without taking the mount or crossmember out.

seal and out put shaft bushing good ?

The output shaft on that one just runs into the transfer case. Theres that broken gasket, another gasket at the t case, and an input seal/output seal at the t case. I'm guessing the t case input seal is a birectional. It cost enough to ne something special. Will find out in the morning when I pick it up.

I just been doin this 30 some years longer than you have.
Its "educational instruction".

Anyhoo, for you fellers up dere in the land of salt and rust, thought you might like.
Its been kept under shelter since I got it in 08, but my cousin who bought it new left it outside. It was hit in the arse about 4 days after I got it. Got the passenger side rear fixed and painted. Tailgate fixed and painted. New AM bumper. New windshield(hand flew off the wheel and cracked it). Rest of it is original. Hasnt been in the slop too much, but I use it like a truck should be used.

See that oval stamped in the muffler? All exhaust is original.
