To "storm" is to "assault", point being, it's nothing new and certainly not anything a useless fake news person came up with. Even if they do like to flap on about it just like you say.
Eh, we'll have to agree to disagree.
I have pretty thick skin and I'm not one to get my panties in a bunch over an internet argument/conversation, however, I took offense to being told to "learn something" as if I was completely ignorant to the subject being discussed. If I make a false assertion, I will gladly own my mistake, but I don't believe that is the case here.
I know that storm can be synonymous with assault, but that was not the word used. Did ol' Adolf mean storm as in assault, or did he mean it as a storm of bullets, like a hail of gunfire? Either way, the term has been bastardized to meet the needs of those who oppose gun rights. If you look up what an assault rifle is, to those who use them AKA the military, selective fire between semi-auto and full auto is a defining feature of that class of firearm. Ding, ding, ding.......99% of firearms that so many ignorant people would classify as assault rifles don't meet that part of the definition. Hell, most of the firearms that they classify as assault rifles aren't even rifles! They're fuggin carbines FFS!!!!
Somewhere along the way, someone decided that because AR15 patterned rifles, carbines and their cousins, LOOK like M16s, M4s, AKs, etc., they can call them assault rifles and no one would care enough to learn the difference. Basically, if it looks like a duck, it must be a duck. Assault rifle sounds oh so scary to the masses, who gives a flyin fuk if it's accurate, USE IT!
I don't know about you, but I don't like assumptions about me, the things I value, or my beliefs being made based on looks or false information. Especially when it is just to further someone's agenda, extra points when it is an agenda I oppose. So when I see or hear something patently false, I will speak up.
Again, your post telling me to learn something came off as sarcastic, arrogant and, as if to insult my intelligence. If that was not the tone you intended, I apologize for my forceful retort and I'll owe you a beer. That statement and the subject matter just kinda hit a nerve with me.
Rant over

Girls, it's past my bedtime.
Let me just throw this in as I drift off.
Todd made the original comment about "assault rifles". He lives in Australia. They have been completely disarmed by their government, and cant even own common tools like prybars without facing persecution for having a "weapon". He doesnt know the struggles we face, because he has no rights to defend in that aspect. He was just making a statement that he would love to "stop by and buy a couple of guns".
We all need to stick together and protect the rights weve been given by our founders, or we will be in his boat.
The controversy is put in place on purpose by the ones that don't want us to be able to defend ourselves against our own government. That would be our own government if you havent figured that out yet. The first Amendment led to the 2nd. Both are necessary. Get rid of the 2nd. The first goes with it.
