That is the plan. Will do another heat cycle through it today while working from home and then try something simple on it like burgers tomorrow.

What's the big deal if it leaks some? You should see my big oil drum smoker going full tilt.

It is my understanding that leaks make it harder to keep/control an even temp for smoking. I’m not super worried but if you take Jason serious at all it seems like a big deal. I’m not one to mess with things quite the way he is though.

The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were supposed to fly here last week but canceled because of rain. We have a big pool party at my house every year for the air show at Selfridge ANGB. I can throw a baseball onto base property.

The Blue Angels are flying here tomorrow and Wednesday the C-135’s and A-10’s from my backyard are flying.

Jason is a guru at the whole smoking/grilling/popping blue pills thing. BUT.....he's also about as anal as a mfer can be. LOL

Just smoke the meat.....it's not rocket surgery.

The only two smokers I’ve used the Lava Lock gaskets on are my 22.5” Weber Smokey Mountain (charcoal/water pan access door) and my Smoke Hollow 44” vertical (front door).

Losing some smoke ain’t bad for any grill/smoker...and it’s gonna be hard to seal any of ‘em perfect. I just try to get the best bang out of my buck when it comes to charcoal/wood chunk/chips. As you use the Performer more and more, it’ll leak less and less around the lid. I haven’t had to use any gasket or seal on either of my two Performers...I always keep the dome lid in the same spot/orientation every time I use them. It’s fits like a glove that way and seals completely. Yet I can rotate the dome lid 90/180 degs and it doesn’t seal quite as well. It’s just how the lid and bottom kettle conform, do their thing over time with the heat.

Three A-10’s flew over the house day before yesterday coming into Robins. If not for an IFE, I’m sure they were just getting a drink of fuel and got gone shortly thereafter.
