I am doing something I never have done before, going to a dealership to get my oil changed in muh truck. I won a free oil change in a drawing about a month ago.
Even though it's free it still seems strange to have someone else do it.

be sure you check it and when you get home check the oil pan bolt. Heard of many being left loose. I change my own also. I don't trust em.

*f-word THAT I wound not let anyone change my oil even if its free.They would put Chit oil in it. Royal Purple and a Wix filter only way to go IMO.

Valvelene had one of the promos with the oil change/filter combo. The filter was a Fram. There was a growing pile of them at the Advance store where people substituted. No charge for the upgrade.

I've heard this too. But, I'm a tightass. Bought a new Tahoe for the wife in 2001. 285k miles worth of Fram filters and Quaker State oil, changed every 4 k, and it ran perfectly

Ive been running the Napa gold branded Wix filters. About half the cost.

They said they'd put synthetic in. But crap, I've been here 45 mins and counting... What a waste of time....

I was letting them change the oil and filter in my wife's Honda. I get free rotation and at first the oil and filter change was like $30.00. I can just buy it for that. Then it was 35 ,then 40 ,then 50. Remember,he's buying Valv synpower by the 55 gallon drum. Then I asked WTF? "If I can't make 20 bucks to tie up a bay and a guy for 45 minutes". So now he ties up a bay and a guy for 45 minutes on a free tire rotation. And that's all.

I'm too cheap for royal purple. Valvoline or mobil for me.
