Hey Kev, how's it going? What saws you playing with today?Pics
Put a bb kit on the 6421 raffle saw I won. Won't idle. Bought a 7900 cylinder off the bay to put on it. Not sure what's up. Tried 3 different carbs. Hoping it's the heavy piston and not the $100 coil. Pulled Dustin's 064 down to get timing #'s. Das about it.Hey Kev, how's it going? What saws you playing with today?

It's weird. Like it's under load at idle. Like a 36" bar with the chain too tight and a broken clutch spring. Let it below about 4k rpm and it dies. One of those in line LED spark testers are good for finding a low speed miss while running.

I wonder what color blue powder paint on a mag case burns in a bonfire
Have you tried a different spark plug? Just for something easy to tryIt's weird. Like it's under load at idle. Like a 36" bar with the chain too tight and a broken clutch spring. Let it below about 4k rpm and it dies.

You may need a different inlet lever spring in your carburetor, unless the diaphragm is too stiff to flutter properly.
3 carbs, 3 or 4 plugs, same resultsHave you tried a different spark plug? Just for something easy to try

I ran off a batch of home brew...same same. What about oil? Did you mix with Red Armor? That miracle potion cures everything, doesn't it?
Came from a running ported 7900 tho.Changing the carb, won't change the metering spring.![]()

Are you thinking it has something to do with timing?Came from a running ported 7900 tho.
