Thanks how's the base treating you
Going good at times and pure *s-wordty at other times...but par for the course in this business. Got an Air Show coming up wknd after next (Oct 1-2) so be a lot of planes getting towed/tugged, moved around for static displays, otherwise here on the flightline. They come by the tens of thousands to this Air Show.

I've always wanted to make it to a air show. A few years back we were traveling home as a air show was going on and the blue angels flew right over us on the highway, that was pretty neat.

A buddy goes to Oshkosh every year. Their plane that they restored several years back won best of show, they take it there every year. I've never been able to make it work to get to one.

I know my kids would have a blast at one.

They're a blast to go to...kids really enjoy the air shows. Oshkosh is definitely on my things to do list, would really like to see the vintage WWII fighters flying. A couple of P-51's most everytime and sometimes other warbirds make it here, but Oshkosh dedicates and entire venue to them. Cool that your buddies restoration won best of show.

Little food for thought...If anyone is through mid-Ga the wknd of Oct 1-2, Robins AFB where I work, is having their Air Show. Thunderbirds will be here this year, as well as several other flight/flight demonstrations, many static displays of fixed and rotary wing aircraft you can walk in and out of, sit in cockpits, etc, etc. Good family time, especially for kids.

I'm not sure of the itinerary yet, but if anyone is interested I can relay the info as soon as I find out. If you've never been up close and personal to a F-22 Raptor or F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, you're in for a helluva treat. The F-22 will blow you away with its flight demonstration. It is unreal what it can do in the air.

We have a big party and watch the air show at Selfridge ANGB every year from my pool. My cousin was the Commanding Officer and flight leader flying the Blue Angels #1 plane for a few years. The only way to describe watching them perform is mind blowing.

Cool...lots of ANG fighter/aerial ground support role aircraft and aerial refueling support comes from there. Marine Corps and Navy used to do a lot of mission training, flight training there as well. That's a helluva seat for the show kicking back with a cold one in the pool.

Had a similar experience one fall riding down I-39 On my motorcycle, two Blue Angels were practicing, one pilot must have liked bikes or something as he rolled over upside down along side me, near close enough we could shake hands. I rapped the throttle on the Harley, we gave each other the thumbs up, what he did next was totally spectacular. All sort of tricks and hot dog stunts right in front of me, just kept following me down the highway and do all manor of things that I didn't even think a jet could even do. At one point I thought surely he would be crashed in the road in front of me. Best air show I ever saw.
