Occasionally they will get in a chicken coop but mostly just eat an egg or too but they will eat most anything when opportunities arise. But nothing like coons. Coon are very destructive. The possums don't bother anything here and they eat mice and snakes so I let them live.
No argument there, a coon will just go apeshoot in a coop taking off the heads. We've only had a small problem with them over the years, I'm guessing because there are a pretty fair number of folks that hunt coons with dogs in the area. Perhaps keeping down the general population?
I do not need to second guess why, I'm just glad they're staying away!

I used to trap and kill, but I finally just reinforced the coops to Fort Knox levels. We're talking about paranoid OCD pessimistic design. It was either that, or napalm the woods, and I like the woods.

Same here, we try to let them out during the day to free range as often as possible and then they put themselves up at dark. Problems have been when we've not gotten home from work until after dark and the critters enter the coop before we shut them up. Human error...

I have had dreams where I checked on the chickens and found them on the roost, grooving with coons, owls, and several species of small furry things.

So this chit right here boys and girls....
This chit puts out like a prom date!🤣
And that was on the "normal" nozzle.
Theres a "high output" allong with a low output and vertical/horizontal fans. Pretty nice for rattle can paint. Less than 8 bucks a can at homie depot.
Yeah i know that tractor dash needs some mud work, and i dont care. Paint is just there to keep the rust at bay. It looked like chit. Half the mud and most of the old paint was gone. Two or three chitty coats worth...20250725_214818.jpg20250725_214836.jpg
