Good morning guys
I'm planning a drive to MaskinSalg today, parts have arrived, but I hope the rest will arrive today too.
As always, I'm looking forward to driving up the valleys, over the mountains, and talking to Stig again.

Work for the weekend is to use my new 540 mk3 and buck housewood, split it and get the misery on pallets.

I just looked up the weather forecast for Alaska. I want to move there but the wife said no.
Speaking of Alaska, has anyone heard from Michael? I miss that MF’er and his recounts of the past. Hearing about the Wright brothers from someone that was actually there is fascinating…

How about a GFY from the roof. View attachment 465434

You should plan to get out here sometime.
Pictures make it look lame. When we get back I'll try to upload a few of the videos my wife took. Those give a little better perspective but still nothing like the real thing.

Another day another nocturnal creature IMG_20250725_051447753.jpg
My egyptian friend at work locked her keys in her car with her phone and security badges for workScreenshot_20250725-104805.Messages.png
I was very sympathetic
She's addicted to her phone and speaks Arabic all day to her family on speakerphone so it wasn't a entirely bad thing she didn't have her phone.

If it was possible I'd be there. But some poor life decisions make that not possible at the moment
For whatever it's worth, John, I am somewhat in the same boat.

I had planned a bike trip out west for the summer of 2010 with my then new wife and our Triumph Sprint ST. I had a basic itinerary planned out to ride through parts of south Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. I had wanted a the trip to be a surprise, but she beat me to the surprise part with a positive pregnancy test. That trip never happened.

Now I'm waiting for the kids to be old enough to support themselves, so we can make that vacation happen. I will need something bigger than the current scooter to make that work ('98 sportster 1200 aint a touring bike), but I have time to figure it out.

I caught a possum a while back while trying you catch a coon. I could tell she had babies somewhere. I turned her loose. I hope she got to them in time. Possums are good to have around.

We used to think that until they discovered a taste for chicken! We've had to relocate 5 so far this year to that great pouch in the sky

Occasionally they will get in a chicken coop but mostly just eat an egg or too but they will eat most anything when opportunities arise. But nothing like coons. Coon are very destructive. The possums don't bother anything here and they eat mice and snakes so I let them live.

When I had chickens raccoons were definitely the biggest problem I had. They’ll kill chickens super fast. Fortunately my yappy little Yorkie could see them a mile away from inside the house and would start going nuts at the door, which is when I’d go grab my rifle and pop them.
