Good morning American sloths,
I ate a full pizza late yesterday and it worked great on my reflux, so my sleep was greatly reduced.

The day is going to go to a round at physical therapy, get checked out what I can do to relieve the knee pain.

Besides that, I'm going to wash the two new chainsaw projects, it seems the one I know the least about is a 234SG from 1983 (my guess), if so it's going to be a very long project since I have very little else, like a top end lol, but it was missing from my collection.
Sounds like a fun project, don't feel alone, I am still on the hunt for a 357xp top end that doesn't cost more than the whole saw.
Did assemble the bottom end, probably bag it up and wait now.
Yes I heated the cases to let the new Nachi bearings go in easily without any side tension.

I haven't started yet, step one is to pop the original bearings and install the 372 xtorx bearings, the goal is more of an experiment than there being any sense behind it all.
I have another one that is not as nice, that will get the same bearing, I will deliver it to a bunch of line cleaners and ask them to use it as often as possible.

Check the serial numbers on your project to my 357 project Steve, it's close.

I would assume we can talk a little more freely in this thread than other places on the forum, I mean, those who cold press crank bearings into magnesium housings (and often without a centering tool), are stupid as hell.

My 357 has developed a leak somewhere. Gotta tear it down and see how bad the cylinder is. Such a shame they quit making parts for them.

CT scans on my Dad showed no conclusive signs that the cancer has spread to other areas.
Thursday they go to determine the "depth" of the tumor and probably place markers for radiation.
There's no good in cancer but this is probably best case moving forward.
With cancer, that's good news, Ed
I wish your father a quick and good treatment, and that most of the cancer, if it's difficult, is reduced to the minimum, but preferably that they get rid of all the cancer.

Morning, good men.

The CAD has mutated. When I was assembling/testing the brush cutter yesterday, I started thinking if i got another one, I could leave the string head on one and a blade on the other. That's probably a bad way to think, but I'm not sure why.

Take any kind of edge you can get with that stuff. Keep his spirits up best you can throughout the process, that's very important I believe. I wish him the best.

Last cup of coffee, and then it's tea for the rest of the evening.
Have split the 234SG crankcase, from January 1983, will get new crank bearings even though it's a great crankcase, one-off build this.
Might as well bake it together with the 357 crankcase when it gets 372 bearings.

For some reason Husqvarna has a 242 crankcase and gas tank lying around, I don't know how many but I've bought a set, it's so expensive that it'll stay in my parts collection, maybe the ultimate build when I'm a real retiree.
The only thing that might be a bit hard to know is whether it's a 238 or a 242 crankcase since the Husqvarna fools had one part number from 1986 until 2001.
