Granted, but it's not just random BS, a plan by a forester specifically for your property is made to maximize your efforts to your benefit I might add. And if you don't like that then don't put it in and pay the man if you have a betterer plan. My issue is for 90K will 8 acres be even worth messing with as an investment. Then again, I've seen them sold for commercial ventures where the trees were just trees like any other and not farmed any longer.
I agree there are definite benefits to the program. It's just not for me.
If I understand it correctly, once enrolled if the property were to ever be removed from the program, the landowner is responsible to pay all the tax that would have been incurred over the time it was in the program.
That 8 acres is a corner lot and backs up to a cell tower. Not sure if the tower is on that acreage that's for sale or not.
