Everything diesel on the place got treated and ran before the cold with Hot Shot's treatment. No problems except for the batteries and a couple glow plugs in the farm truck. You got an extra filter to change out in case the paraffin won't liquefy in the old one?
The truck stays plugged in when not running but I treated it and the tractor to a good dose of Howe’s. At least the sun is out now but not supposed to get above freezing til Wednesday.

Supposed to be 2° tonight 😫 and windy.

My SIL is a full time firefighter for Mount Airy. He just got off shift and he couldn’t make it up the drive from the main road (We’re about a mile from the road).

Went down on the old 2001 Sportsman 400 😎 and got him. Snow is so hard frozen we didn’t leave tracks. Made it back … barely, spinning all the way.

How cold did it get to gell your fuel? We never add anything and with a block heater they'll start down to 0.
It was single digits yesterday. I plugged the tractor in for about a half hour before I went out to plow. I got it running this morning but it’s starving for fuel. Off to get a new filter after I get things cleaned up with the 4 wheeler.

I’m grateful to have fluffy snow versus the ice.

I despise ice storms…

I've got a 2000 Xplorer 400. Just finished putting the engine back in yesterday. Crank seal went and it was pulling the counterbalance oil into the crankcase

Mine has been living in the shop for right now. Been putting a magnetic heater on the oil pan last couple of days. When I first got it I fought it gelling constantly from the junk diesel the dealer put in it. We had no degrees today, 0°, and no problems firing up and feeding.

My tractor started right up today. Kubota FTW.

I need one of those magnetic heaters.

Why do you not put it next to a coolant jacket on the block?

Need the oil flowing for lubrication over the need for warm coolant. Oil pan is stamped steel so it will not transfer the heat from a coolant heater very well. It is not as efficient running when cold and warming up I understand. I will at some point pick up a coolant heater kit for it so I can warm both on a timer. A hydraulic fluid heater would be helpful as well considering how much on this tractor runs on it. Current price for DZ102076 heater kit is $154 from dear john.

I got mine back in action this afternoon. I couldn’t believe OEM fuel filters were $10 cheaper than Napa! Picked up an extra and another bottle of Power Service to add to my portable tank.
It’s running fine but sounds a little different… I suspect it’s from getting carried away with the fuel treatment yesterday, I’ll dilute it with more fuel tomorrow. Lol

Mine has a primary and secondary fuel filter, pair runs about $30 from the dealer. Still under warranty so I use real filters from the dealer with a receipt and put the tractor hours on it with a paint pen. Same as you, filters from the dealer are cheaper than aftermarket ones. I need to look and see what I have extra on hand and pick some up when they run them on sale.

Good morning guys,

It's Tuesday and I had my 35 minutes on the spin bike, went hard, eventually managed to find a good rhythm, and ended up with a new record by a good margin.
I forgot to take my heart meds this morning, maybe why everything went as well as it did lol
