Good morning. -9F & Windy. 🌤️
Wood boiler is earning its keep today. 🔥
Used some new goodies I just got from CC Specialty's and Foredom last night.
Was nice to have all three cable drives up and running, instead of just the one that I was down to.

Pretty irritating. Granddaughter had a 2016 Kia that needed 17 small bolts removed to drop the fiber skid plate to do an oil change. Glad she got rid of it.
I looked under there and my first thought was is there even a drain plug? It's a 2008 so by no means new. I would hate to think what the new ones are like!

My ultrasonic will try a different program tomorrow, with more temperature and a little stronger chemo.
I actually managed to get the boot on the 357, always a hell of a job with the pliers I use (home made), but one step further on the summer saw.

Right now I'm going to have a cup of tea, before bed.
When I get in a Hurry I sometimes dip the USC liquid into a big measure cup and Nuke it to warm or hot saves a lot of heating time and some say the heating elements wear out before the USC Drivers. So far I have just used simple Green in mine.

IMG_9813.jpegIMG_9795.jpegIMG_9804.jpegIMG_9796.jpegIMG_9802.jpegGood evening boyo's and whatnots..

The guy with the generator problem, texted me yesterday evening, saying all the parts have arrived, can you fix it on Monday??
I said Monday is your lucky day 😉

So that’s what I’ve been doing today. Down in a hole for the afternoon . This morning was taking the valves out and lapping the new ones in. The spring compressor he brought was apita but it worked.

There was a lot of wear on the intake valve and some carbon, & blow by although the exhaust valve wasn’t as warn but still also had carbon. Which can be seen in the pics.
I didn’t see any scratches/scoring on the intake valve stem, however I fitted the new valve stem seals and lub them up before fitting the springs etc.
He did buy a new push rod for the intake as it had the broken spring, which I fitted. I didn’t bother to check the old one.

Anyhow after putting it all together and adjusting the rocker gaps it fired up and plumes of diesel smoke came out. I had to get out quickly. However it did clear up and ran better than it did before it broke. The smoke was down to him trying to start it over and over, (That’s what he told me.)
Look at the air filter pic the paper is blown out, he says it was due to the diesel coming out ??

So once it warmed up, 10 mins run time. I went back down the hole and changed the oil as well as the oil & fuel filter.

FYI the generator has done 3300 ish hrs in 5ish yrs
I’ve said I will recheck the valve rocker gaps in a weeks time and just quickly check nothing has come lose etc.
Pics will follow & hopefully I will get them in the right order.
And thanks to everyone that helped me 👍👍👍
