Good morning without politics or drama.

31f heading to 61. Went to primary doctor yesterday. He agreed that stopping the Crestor is a good step toward figuring out the other pain. All this diagnostic stuffs reminds of troubleshooting an engine.
DOC --- Does it always Backfire/fart like that?

Well, that was embarrassing to watch, I am surprised that the pull cord didn't come out or the recoil exploded. I wonder if whoever sold him the saw showed him the proper way to start the easy starts? I had probably been sitting with last year's gas in it....lol

Wonkydonkey, any chance of that having scarred the valve stem and then having a valve seal leak after a bit of run time?
My second thought would be, was there any teensy chance the broken spring ever found a way to get caught on top of the valve guide and cause an issue with the rocker travel and possibly a slightly bent push rod for it?

My mate has a spring compressor coming with all the other bits (new valves & oil seals and 2 new springs, ,head gasket as well as oil & filter (service kit)).
He believes it’s better to fix it properly first time, so he don’t loose any more time. As he needs the generator to power his tools (he’s a stone carver ) as there’s no mains where his workshop is. Also the generator is in a hole in the ground (which I will get pics of), this means it’s not as easy to just take the whole thing to a garage.

When we (“I”) get it completely apart I will go over it meticulously. And see how much spring is missing etc

However I do believe, the intake spring broke a short while ago and it was running badly, but still runnng due to the air filter having the lower side paper part destroyed! Blowback off spent gasses etc.
Hopefully I will get a lot of pics as I rebuild it .

The only thing I,m not sure about is if the new valves are going to be seated properly (just put them in) or if I will have to lap/grind them in ?

The generator is about 5 yrs old and gets run about 6hrs a day 5 days a week, about 10 months a yr
