Is that 1hour 10 min workout on a stationary bike?
Yes it is, Ray.
There are a few things I do, put the weight close to what my thighs can handle, so for 10 minutes, 60 - 70 - 80 - 70 - 80 - 90 rpm. The last 10 minutes are a leisurely pace with zero load in watts.
I train for the heart, blood vessels, and especially mentally. It's boring and painful though lol.
At my age, close to 59, on heart and cholesterol meds, I think 140-150 bpm is as high as I should really go.

She brought home her .38, .556, and 12 ga qualifying targets and I was always joking about framing them and putting them by the front door with a sign saying "If you try to break in, don't worry about me, worry about my wife"
One of the ranges had a vehicle in it we could practice with the 12 ga and slugs!

A mid 30’s blowing sounds perfect… Oh wait a minute! You’re talking about the weather!
lol you are in your thirties and trying to cover stuff up lol
I'd have a heart attack and die..
lol it’s not like that lol
You guys have this all wrong

The heart attack and the dying are two separate things

They dying comes because my wife graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco Georgia many years ago and she can shoot REALLY well
So you’ve never had one ?

They yelled at me when mine was 145
That was the max they wanted my pulse to be

If you are asking if I have ever had a heart attack then the answer is no, I haven't

For a 69 year old I am extremely healthy

Hell, for a 39 year old I would be considered extremely healthy

I don't need or take any medications other than over the counter vitamins and Tylenol and Motrin when I overdo it

I was morbidly obese and diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 12 years ago but I took care of all that with lifestyle changes and other than achy joints on bad days I am good to go

Hats off to you buddy. I used to do daily bicycle rides outdoors or indoors depending on the weather. Listening to music and playing video games when indoors helped pass the time. Never monitored pulse and time length was 20 to 60 minutes. Last couple years occasional bike rides but walking the bike trails every other day.

For those of us who are on meds, it is not a training goal to reach a high BP pulse, with the right intensity and power we should also be able to carry on a conversation while we train.

I'm lucky that others also train in the same room, otherwise it would be even more boring to take the 70 minutes.

I'm not a doctor but you did well to reach 145 bpm.

Good morning men, happy Friday. I saw a lot of community as well as despair in Asheville yesterday. The governor may be the least popular person in that part of the state. Too many people with all their belongings in a pile. Going to take a long time for that place to heal.
Oliver Anthony did a short vid a while back, quite something. Long version coming up, says he.

Thats about right for your age while moderately exercising. My target heart rate for moderate is only 150. Intense exercising max for your age is 170ish and 185 for me. Of course overall health changes it.

If my heart rate ever hits 185 running you can rest assure I’m being shot at or there is a bear chasing me.🤣

Good on you sir, hoping I can find some of that same will. Saw the Dr yesterday, gained 30lbs in the last year, need to get the diet and snacking under control and reverse that trend in a hurry.

My Dr was prompting me to do stronger intervals and get the heart beating faster. Added 4 intervals at higher tempo this morning and burned an extra 75 calories, average HR up 12bpm and max peaked at 157. Feel pretty good but craving some sweets to get me through the afternoon...
Great to hear from you again Keith

Morena E Hoas.
A couple of beers emptied last night, now to try and play some soccer without permanent injury.

Keep safe ay.
Two Kiwis posting consecutively... HMM...
