I did ours in the roaster but that was 5 weeks ago already...Am I the only one here not cooking the turkey in a smoker? Just a plain old oven here.
You won't get a good answer as it isn't consistent at all. Our staff get Thursday but not Friday, lots of corps that aren't dealing directly with the public are closed for a 4 day weekend. A couple I deal with Tech Support is closed today, open tomorrow but customer service is closed both.So do you diks get Friday off after Thursday Thanksgiving? Tried asking Lougle but no dice.

Looks good, why are you only cooking for one?View attachment 397987Well it took about 3 hours to get to temp and it’s very tasty. Just having early dinner late lunch with it right now.
This was labeled as a bone in breast. When I opened it it looked like a small wholeLooks good, why are you only cooking for one?
Nah, he would still have a full bird and a brisket for 1.Only cooking for .1, if we are talking Jason. @USMC615
Got it. We see them both ways and I really like the whole bone in. Basically a full bird with the thighs and drums removed. I like those over the single breasts as I prefer the skin on for better protection cooking. I guess I am old school when it comes to turkey and use the traditional seasonings and not any of the specific BBQ rubs. Brine, compound butter under the skin, pepper and poultry seasoning and let it rip. This was labeled as a bone in breast. When I opened it it looked like a small whole
Turkey so I removed both breasts. This was just the one I cut to eat. The other was in the pan yet but that is now cut for later. I’ll definitely do this again. May even change up the seasoning. I have a cupboard full of seasonings.
It is considered a holiday and we used to get the day off. Not anymore because someone might not get their dent puller they got on pre-black friday sale. I have to take vacation this week to get the day off and not be forced to work. Holiday plus double for the pay rate but I would rather not have to deal with people. I will have to work it next year since I have already been bumped from that week for vacation. So do you diks get Friday off after Thursday Thanksgiving? Tried asking Lougle but no dice.
I’ll go back to work Wednesday. Our rifle deer season opens this weekend and my boys are off til then so might as well get some family time in the woods. So do you diks get Friday off after Thursday Thanksgiving? Tried asking Lougle but no dice.
Didn’t even have turkey here. We went to a local restaurant for dinner. Turkey will be Saturday evening for us.Am I the only one here not cooking the turkey in a smoker? Just a plain old oven here.
