I prefer mechanical linkage.

It's an Allison, so it has mechanical linkage. It was causing the shift solenoids to turn off.
Unless you are talking a manual trans, which in many cases is better. But, can't knock the Allison as far as toughness goes.
And that's only if one isn't referring to @41FanForLife buddy, Allison..

If Dodge could put the Allison behind the Cummins, they would then have something worth owning.

The big 3 actually have it figured out pretty good for their truck transmissions right now.
GM canned that damn 8 speed and it looks like the 6 speed torque converter failures are fixed.
The 10 speed, other than some valve bodies and a few pump gears being noisy have been solid.

Good morning gang. Missed the light show last night - they said we might see it but I peaked and couldn’t make out any. When the northern lights do become visible here, it usually along the horizon, not up overhead. So cloud cover, haze, and light pollution all affect us here. Looks awesome though, @GCJenks204 , great pictures!

Good morning men, loving the mornings, still hitting 80 during the day though. It is progress. Looking forward to firewood cutting again. Too damn hot until fall.
Question for ya: being you’re much further south than I am, at what temperature is it too hot for you to bow hunt and/or want to take care of a deer?

I ask because we let our deer hang for a week whenever possible, as long as nominal temps don’t get above 50 and as long as we can keep the meat under 40.. But early season bow hunting doesn’t allow that usually, and we can pack the carcass with ice while it’s hanging for a day or so, until we get the time to butcher, but it’s not ideal.

Doesn’t the 2.7 turbo have the 8 speed trans?

Here we have ticks and chiggers that seem to really enjoy the taste of my hide. So I'm not going to be stalking anything in the woods until after we have a good solid frost.

I stuff the carcass with frozen 2L bottles or bags of ice & store in a enclosed shed overnight.
You could store longer as long as you change the ice out.
Copy that. Thanks. We hang ours inside also. I do have access to a walk-in cooler, but we don’t fire that up for 1 deer. That only runs starting a few days before Gun season, through the season. Usually 15-25 deer will be in there in that time.
