Sons friend just bought a 91 S10.
Little 2.8/manual trans truck.
Body is still fairly solid, except for cab corners. Paint sucks.
Still a gutless little mfer, but SHOULD get him where he wants to go.
Id drive one if I needed a basic ride.
Same with a Ranger.
I had a couple of those.
The 83 was worn out when I got it, and the 91 I had was wrecked, poorly fixed, and worn out when I got it.
Neither the Chebby or the Ferd is that easy to work on, but they both filled a needed spot for poor mfers like me.

No now ford uses the bud light cans lol

Only time that old Ferd has failed to start was AFTER I replaced the original distributer(after 204 k miles).
POS remanned Cardone dizzy lasted about 2 hours, never timed in right, and died. I yanked it, gave it back to NAPA, and ordered a brand new one. Lesson learned.
Actually, Ford, Chevy, and possibly Dodge ALL had their chit together in the 90s.
They made good vehicles that would last, and were relatively simple to work on.
Then they figured out that wasnt the way to sell vehicles, and folks were getting soft. They wanted heated seats and chit, and didnt mind a monthly payment, so here we are.

I had a 91 S10 Blazer and also had a 99 Ranger at one point. Both fun to drive as a teenager. But when I got married my wife had a 98 S10 ZR2 and that truck rocked! I wanted to V8 swap that pickup in the worst way.. we ended up getting rid of it when she got pregnant though - couldn’t put a car seat in the back.
