What year is the Ford?
Let me do some digging and see how the sensors are input to the vehicle. If the are direct inputs to the IPC or if they go to the ECM and sent by dataline to the cluster.
Speed sensor will likely be the toughest.
Need to figure tooth count on reluctor of original trans and do some math. Might need to add in a "box" to get speedo correct and operational.
It's easier to add a drive shaft mag signal pick-up imo.
So you have a well grounded clusterfuck... Duh. LMAO.
Sorry I had to...
Lots of dash clusters are known for bad ground wires. When adding more load with older sensors it tends to burn them out but wtf do I know.

I do enjoy trying to make people read between the lines. It's better than just giving them the answers. Promotes educated thinking imo.

I did delete my response to your post @Mastermind it wasn't pleasant and would have been ill perceived or received.

You guys enjoy your day

This is why I ignore you Kenny. Everything you said here has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Chevrolet temp sensor, oil pressure, tach, speed. Ford instrument cluster.

WTF is grounding the mfer gonna help?
My wife has a friend like that. She can talk for an hour but not say a damn thing

The Ford is a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. The Explorer, and Ranger pretty much use the same cluster and sensors.

The engine and transmission is a 305 and TH400 from a 88 1500 pickup. It has a sensor on the transmission for an electronic speedo.

Lots of stuff out there about stuffing an LS into a Ford......but very little to be found on the instrument panel workings.

I may end with a billet insert and a a few old school gauges.

The old school gauges would be reliable and easy to do.

This one is working great right now. No issues as it is.

wtf do I know

I've been trying to figure that out for a great many years.

I do enjoy trying to make people read between the lines.

I hate riddles, and have no patience for that crap. Plus.....we both know that isn't what you were doing.

Let me have it mfer. I got thicker skin that you would imagine.

Save a lot of pita for sure lol.

I did a Chevy Luv with a 383 stroker many moons ago. The dash was cracked all to hell in it......so I have a sheet metal shop brake a dash for it. I used a speedometer from a Studebaker, and Autometer gauges. It turned out pretty good.
