Does pickle juice and Weber Kickin Chicken for 12 hours count as a brine?
I like to use pickle juice as a tenderizer/brine.
Works for Chic fill a.
Now if I want a steak, it just gets HEAVY salt and pepper, sits in the fridge for a few hours, then brought up to room temp before going on a HOT grill.

I like to cook steaks in the wood stove in the winter, get a good bed of orange coals, lightly salt both sides, throw on coals. After a few minutes lift until coal don't want to stick, and flip it. Few minutes on the other side, let it rest on a plate. You won't ever have a better steak.

Don't sautee the onions this way! Lol

We lost a vote to hunt them legally a few election cycles ago. I've never tried it.

Don't tell anyone, but I have bobwhite quail on my property. Couple of covey's so far, I keep creating more habitat. Someday I may hunt them, but only take a few.

Never been legal here. They're quite prevalent, like grouse up north. Woodcock is legal but I rarely see those anywhere nor could ever bring myself to shoot one of those dancing mfers. No rhyme or reason to what's what. Pheasants were around when I was a kid and turkey weren't, the coyote population has flipped that. They still get enough turkey to be a plague but the turkey are still thriving.

Ive been in every briar patch in Georgia and a good many in SC. Mostly following my Grandad, dad, and a couple of bird dogs.
So sad theres no more habitat for them here anymore.
