Get a good flashlight.

120 acres is a big chunk of land.

I have an LED headlamp with multiple setting that I have been wearing the last couple days. I turn it off to take pictures as the extra light messes up the camera on my phone.

So far I have only seen one guy each of the last two mornings on his way to work that early. Our road is about a mile and a half long with about 20 houses on it, so pretty quiet on the traffic front.

There are people here that will hunt a species to extinction. Which is why I don't tell anyone local that I have them. Neighbor swore there would never be any quail here as he knows the guys who would sneak around and hunt them. I have posted my property, and will prosecute anyone hunting it without permission. I know the game don't belong to me. Just want them to thrive, so I may hunt them a little. Have never had quail, seems like I am missing out on it.

Good morning all.
Understand completely.
When there were plenty of quail here, we only broke a covert and moved on to a different one.
Rarely hunted singles.
Shared with other hunters, and everyone left birds to regroup.

Hey dudes, i need some help. Friend of mines daughters truck, 09 f-150 w 5.4. Making the type of noise one usually associates with a power steerinf issue, but its coming from this m-fer. What is that pulley powering?

It's just a smooth idler pulley. Belt off, bolt out from the center of it and put the new pulley on. Any parts store should stock it.

I grew up hunting quail. wild quail.
We hunted the same coveys for 15 years , take a few and move on.
Farmers then took out fence rows and left no borders fallow.
Then night hunters for deer and trespassers got some farms closed to everyone.

I still take about 10 quail a year to eat.
Many years ago i bought a 20 gauge Parker side by side. Walked down to the field edge to find the afternoon covey and got lucky.
First shots with the gun got me a double, 2 shots 2 birds.
My wife had never eaten wild quail. She was a chef in a high end resterant had pen raised quail on the menu.
After she tasted the wild quail next to some pen raised she was ready to fight for my wild bird.
You can't do better than nature.
