if I was setup with a holding area and shed for a beef I’d already had oneHear you there.
Thinking about going in with dad and keeping a beefer for next year.
Easier to kill and dress with the 4630 Ferd and FEL. Would be cheaper to do that and have the carcass butchered.
We used to do that when I was a kid.
My grandad worked for a poultry company, so he could bring home the "strays" after they caught a poultry house. That's where a lot of the chicken I ate as a kid came from.
Not "yard birds" for sure, but still good.
I was offered a couple wilder beef yearlings for 400 bucks but they would have to be put down where they are now and I’d have to get a butcher date setup and that is a way off
