My brother was doing some demo work at an ammonia plant called Arcadia that blew up in my hometown when I was a kid. He had to cut through some zirconium heat exchangers and he told me they were using a cutting torch that used gasoline. You have any experience with that? Sounds like something else I don’t want anything to do with.
Petrogen makes cutting torch setups that use gasoline, diesel, kerosene. Ain’t so damn sure I’d wanna be on the wrong end of one though.

i usually run my arc gouge about 30 to 45 degrees and i like the solid round rod
the flat ones suck
i actually enjoy arc gouging and have gotten good at it
There was a guy at a place I worked. He was the weld eraser for those that effed up or the engeneers changed their minds.

lol i usually volunteer to do the arc gouging or plasma cutting
we use the arc gouge mostly on big headers where the tubes are welded into as there is a flat seat that is machined and if get into that seat it causes alot more work so you have to know what you are doing
