Never bothered me much. Grind the pocket and grind off the pops... no sweat. The real gains are elsewhere as you know. Getting those nasty hotspots off the corners IS all one really needs to do there on the big dog v4 and V6 motors.

The little dogs, like the 25hp, polish the in cylinder bits and attack the reed cages with a diet plan. 40* wot vs 26* stock. Never even put rings in that motor. I did put a bigger ported carb on it and that was the magic touch in the end game tuning it.

First thing on little V4s is to swap the heads and exhaust plate to 135 or 140 chit. You can't keeps rods in those motors anyway with those heavy slugs.

76' Rude 115 hurumft... come and git some but hang onto your hat!

Or a 135 ported but you got to stay under 6,500 or chit goes bye bye right out the side :)
I ended up settling that welding up the combustion chamber and taking.010 off to true them was sufficient enough. Or if I shaved the head further I’d fly cut some of the deflector off the piston until it didn’t slap without a gasket. On the transfers I had the best luck with machining a groove down the center of the bulge then raising and widening the outside 2 transfer windows. So it simulates loopers. The center 2 windows would then flow upward towards the spark plug. Man those would scream.

Is a large part of your work block that gets plastered over? Do you have many jobs with nice face brick and fancy quoins and arches and such?

Loopers and crossflow is a whole different ball game imo.
Moving the outer windows is always key to making them rip if you can feed it.

Yeppo my method on the cross flow was to try to adopt some of the benefits of the loopers. Right wrong or indifferent they were strong after. Come alive quickly and rev well too.

lmao they would notice it lol

No Kentucky for me. They want me here but they sent 75 trucks down to Ashland, KY and 150 contractors to WV. Hang tight folks they’ll get you taken care of.
i havent lost power once but im not as rural as some people are and with these hills there is some funky weather patterns where you have bad weather on one side and not so much on the other

Good morning fellas. Pretty cold one this morning. Looks to be improving over the next few days. Thoughts are with all of you in Texas and Louisiana today. My brother is down there with Alliant Energy and there emergency response team restoring power. Help is on the way!
Thanks. I’m really grateful that I haven’t lost power or water over the course of the storm.

Had a fella send me a saw UPS and he failed to put on the label the last two digits of the address. Was delivered on Tuesday and not here. Got a call from the neighbor across the way, he came up to get his sleds ready to ride and found it as luck would have it. Nice 346 was in that box. He was lucky that the neighbor was an honest guy. So I called him and made his day, he was a happy feller. All's well that ends well I reckon. :)

Most redheads would kick your ass for being called “medium”. Best of luck on the pre-nap
