I have one here I work on, fail, get pissed and set aside. Repeat. Been dancing with it all COVID.
Got a 4300 Poo-lan thats like that. Its been COMPLETELY apart.
New everything in the lower end etc. Nothing wrong with top end. Still doesnt run right.
Just sitting on the shelf til I get back around to it.

Mine has an air leak still after new seals and gaskets. I'll eventually make some block off plates and hook my Mighty vac to it. Right now it can GFI.

So this is common. Saw suckage.
It all depends on how you let it affect you. I built that one well over a year ago. When things are goin' right and I feel lucky I pull it down and *f-word with it. Only one that's beat me so far. I sold all of my spares so it's just me and it now.

I don't dwell on it. I just move on till I'm ready to go at it again. I had a plan to give it to my cousin because he has one with no spark. Sumbitch left HIS here. All I know, mini macs ain't sh!t to work on compared to some of these.

Have you tried spraying a shot of brake cleaner On the areas where it could leak and see if it chokes out?

So what's protocol on NSP3? To actually suggest something useful to try and help or quite the opposite?

Not yet. Its all buried inside the darn thing. I'm suspecting its a crack I cant see in the intake? Or somewhere. Starts leaning out as it warms up until I'm out of needle adjustment. New SKF seals, new crankcase halves gasket with sealant, base gasket replaced with the same sealer Randy uses and new carb base gaskets.
