Im still kicking myself for buckin a straight 18" x 20' cherry log with zero branches. Maybe I DO have an excuse for a big saw. No holding it up when milling I'm guessing.Good evening fellas. Got some more milling done.View attachment 278246
Yeah I sticker them and let them dry. Got people wanting to buy it right now. Wasn't planning on that, but we'll see where it goes.Do you have to stack that and let it dry out before building anything with it? Forgive my ignorance, I know nothing about milling.

How big? What's a decent "cheap" mill? Cheap because it would be a hobby more than anything.Get a big saw and a mill. I guarantee you won't regret it.
I think HL supply has a good priced 36 inch mill. For a saw 94cc and up if you want it to last. If the wood in your area isn't very big you could get away with a smaller mill, but I would still run a big saw. Once in awhile I will use my 371 ported by Steve, but I really don't like doing that. How big? What's a decent "cheap" mill? Cheap because it would be a hobby more than anything.
