Here For The Long Haul!

Yes with saws we are stuck with what comes from the factory not much options one can do to add weight to flywheels but people do lighten them for faster spool up for racing/cutting cookies.
The thinking and design with old saws was completely different to today's saws old saws had heavy flywheels big clutches slow revving but grunty.
I personally can feel/notice the effect in the cut of putting the heavy old 066 clutch shoes in a ms661 definitely makes it slower to spool up as well not that that bothers me personally.
If I could design a new saw for my personal wants/needs it would have a big heavy flywheel and clutch and normal chain speed as long as it keeps pulling that chain no matter what that's all that matters I hate gutless instant bog saws.
I have no personal need or use for a saw with instant spool up/trigger response and pulling 15k in a cut lol.
