Those trucks were awesome especially after you dropped a healthy small block in them...haha
I had an old gmc s15 with a blueprinted 350. 4 bolt 60 over with 700r4. With a.c. 192 closed chamber heads fender well headers it was a fun truck.it was a sleeper sold it when i got married.the rest is history

If I buy new it will be a Ram 3500 Tradesman with the Cummins/Aisan trans... $45,000 and plenty nice enough for me.

Sticker price is rarely what they go for, so an "$81,000" truck is probably actually only a $70,000 truck... which is still a chit ton of money for most guys to spend on a vehicle.

The Duramax is nice, but I hate IFS on a truck, and the stupid DEF tank hangs way below the frame rail right under the pass. door... I'm really not sure why they thought that was a good place for it??? What a *f-wording eyesore on an otherwise okay looking truck (the GMCs, anyways... the Chevys are ugly as *f-word).

The Cummins also doesn't take up every square inch of the underhood area like the P'stroke/D-Max, meaning maintenance is simpler/cheaper and major engine work can be done without disassembling the entire damn truck. Plus, six cylinders instead of 8 when the time comes to do injectors... I've heard horror stories of $10,000 injector replacements on Duramaxes. I can do all six on my 5.9 for less than $2,000.

I drove a 2017 Cummins Ram the other day... I didn't realize how loose my steering box is on my '06 (even after replacing my tie rods/drag link with the latest parts, and running a steering box brace since the truck was new). The new truck is much tighter, smoother, and also a lot quieter.

Went to get my truck and turns out there’s something wrong with the turbo... so they gave me a pos v-6 F-150 to drive while Ford fixes mine. What a junker.

My 6.0 hasn't been perfect, but knowing its quirks and having practically all of the truly required "fixes" done before buying it, I'm happy as a clam. I drove a new 6.7 Ram and 6.7 PSD awhile back and was impressed by both trucks, but I'll stick with my $17k dually 4x4 for now. Hell, about $9K in parts/labor and I'll be at a now safe power level for towing, while having greatly beefed up crucial driveline components and a new front end. That'll likely get me by for the next decade or better. Then I'll see what's out there.

2005 CC/LB King ranch with a brand new Bradford flatbed. Studs, EGR delete, tuning, bypass coolant filter, new head gaskets, new oil cooler, new radiator, 2 new injectors, new FICM, new glow plugs, different air intake and straight-piped (factory exhaust). On the list: regulated return, FASS lift pump, FS2500 bypass oil filter (like on my Dad's '03 F-250/6.0 PSD) Stage 1.5-2 Turbo and injectors, ALL new front-end bushings/joints (actually OK right now, I just want to have it "factory" right as I pull heavy with it), either larger or additional fuel tank, a built 5R110 and a Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive unit for highway running. And airbags for the rear w/on-board air for smaller tools and tires.
