New Stihl saws vs older Stihl saws

@Lightning Performance They make these anti-vibe foam padded gloves. I use a pair on my FS130 for heavy brush work. If I run that thing without them for a half hour or more, my hands are practically numb afterwards. Maybe give them a try on your 660. Would be tough though running a saw and keeping foam gloves from ripping apart. Have to be conscious of that if you tend to pull brush while cutting.

These are Stihl brand, but there are others. Probably find some on the usual online shopping sites.

Not sayin they don't filter good, they just pack with fines quickly when your running the factory setup

It was packed with willowoak!! Lol! I cut a good bit the other day with the 064 and 390 and figured out I cant get rid of either!! They both have their strong points

Saws all have good and bad points/issues , nothing perfect out there.....eventually you'll have a problem .

My 461 feels as good in the hands as the older stihls I don't notice much difference between them user wise.
Like the power of the 461, and 661 seems to follow suit

I like my 461s better than the 460s I had.

Cut with the tip end of the bar ,and not down by the dogs and the filter will stay cleaner ,you need a real bar to do this though ,not a baby one .

I love the MS 461 also, but if you subtract the price I paid for my 046 Mag from a new 461, I have $700 in the bank:


This saw runs flawlessly. In my book, old saws still have a place.

Blasphemy! I'm willing to try a 461 if you'll just ship it to me. It may take a few months for a thorough test though.
