I love the 440 and the
260, but even ten years ago the 372 and 346 were much better saws. However, that's a topic for another thread.

A 461 is just as easy to work on as a 440. 461 is still a 1128 series saw, with simplicity in mind.

IMHO a 461 is a more refined 460, with better fit & finish.

My personal 440's handle better than my personal 461 with a 32 inch light bar and the same handlebars ,but that is just the Junkman's opinion .So i grab them 95 % of the time .They are much quieter also ,the 461 hurts my head .

If you'd get them tooths pulled, that'd help yer head.

Hmm... I posted a few pics of a very good Stihl 046 that runs well and this thread exploded. Rather amazing. So is my 046.

Don't have one? Find one and buy it.

I have both as well, 44 is a good saw hands down. I've never ran a ported 44 jug on it though. It's always been a hybrid
