Are all the platings magnetic? Maybe a dumb question but I really have no idea what they use for different platings.

They aren't magnetic. An old machinist's trick was to take an unknown cylinder and see if a magnet stuck. If it did, it was a steel lined cylinder and they could bore it out.

I'd have to see it I've never done anything like that.

I lean toward having a purpose built piston. I modeled a custom piston so I could have it made. I may just end up doing that.
272 Wiseco fits already. Possibly the Doninant 460 Wiseco as well. I’m going to venture to guess the 372 BB piston would as well without much trouble.
