So what are the more desirable Coleman gas latern models?
I went shopping the local antique malls about 3 weeks ago & saw a ton of vintage Colemans.

Oh, and the PEAK1 lanterns. Those little backpack lanterns are cool too.

All the ones I saw were Green, but I'll keep a eye out.
Thanks Steve.

Anything that is colorfull too. Yellow is the most desirable for some because they are scarce. Blue is next and everybody wants a red 200a. The Christmas lanterns which are red and green are cool and the burgundy ones are neat. I really want a red dual mantel but so does everyone else!
Like this one....

Saw a yellow plastic latern hardcase that had a top door that swung open to pull the lantern out.
It had a pump latern (pump version) also with latern.
Said 1987 & $27 for all in very good condition.

I like the single mantle models and the 228 big hats. I’ve got a 242nl, 242A, 242A stamped overB, 242B, 242C several. 202 Professional. 200A’s, 200A black band. I have three 200A’s that are special to me. My birthday lantern, my wife’s birthday lantern and our wedding anniversary lantern.
The 228’s I’ve got the entire line, from the 228 slant , 228 no letter (some consider these to be the “A”) then B, C, D, E, F and so on. Four Milspecs (2 still in the box never fired) a turd (275).

I like the turds! The slanted globe is pretty neat.

The picket fence globes are hard to find, if you have one be extra careful with it.

I don't. I would like one for my 621a but they are pricy. I usually try to bid on the 275's on eBay but they go for more than I'm willing to pay. It's hard to pay a premium for something that sits on a shelf for me.

If you can, get one of these. They’re pricy but worth their weight in gold.

That picture I posted with the lanterns hanging from my den ceiling there are (were) 63 lanterns hanging. January the 13th, Friday, my house caught fire. It started in the kitchen and found it’s way into the attic. While it didn’t make it into the den, it was above the den in the attic. The firemen took down the ceiling in half the house and the lanterns suffered terribly along with a LOT of other antiques. The lanterns can be rebuilt but my wife still cry’s over things that belonged to her Grandmother.

Oh my! I'm glad you and your wife got out safely and are ok. It's true stuff can be replaced but that's not entirely true. I feel for your wife loosing her grandmother's items. I have a lot of sentimental stuff from my grandparents too. I would be very upset if I ever lost them.

These two watches were in a box, fortunately, but still got a little water inside them. These belonged to my Grandfather who passed in 1978 at 78 years old. I put them in rice filled ziplock bags for 2 weeks and they dried out and still work amazingly.
My grandfather was a farmer and always wore bib overalls. He always carried a watch in the front bib pocket. He would tie a heavy string to the watch and the string would protrude from the top of the pocket so he could pull the string to get the watch. The upper left watch still has that very strong still on it. I often pull these watches out, carefully wind them and remember that he held these watches in his hands, as I hold them now. I like that thought.
