I live the furthest away at 20 mins. They could literally walk to each others houses. It’s always a good time when we all get together to make saw dust. Lots of laughs, and lots of work getting accomplished at the same time.
My brother is close too and its more fun to go out together. Get more done, too........usually.;)

I already have my own negative influences lol!! I’m a diesel guy and carburetors confuse me. Lol!! But with the brothers I have, keeping up with them is like watching squirrels race. They are all over the map. Lol!!
Racin squirrels with chainsaws, now I would pay to see that...
And there's nothing wrong with rolling coal...

Welcome Mr.Skidder, by all accounts you have pretty good genetics and should fit right in around here.
I look forward to your 550 build thread, but may I suggest that you dare to be different, and drag your brothers down a new rabbit hole and choose a Dolmar for your build project?! At the conclusion your bros will be envious of whatever model you choose. I suggest anything from the 6400-7910 family.Cheap builders can be had in old Home Depot 6421rental units. Whatever you choose we will appreciate the input and effort with the thread!
But choose Dolmar  or Makita!!!
Again welcome to the land of misfit lumberjacks and have fun and stay safe!
Perhaps I could get @Wilhelm to apply a little more peer pressure for our team....

Honestly I’ve never heard of Dolmar Makita. Originality is definitely a plus for me but maybe down the road. I gotta belly up to the bench and learn what the “elders” know before I venture out on my own. Lol! Thanks for the advice and I’ll be looking into it for sure.
Although it might look like a four saw plan, it is actually a one saw plan with each saw having her own temperament.
I don't switch nor sharpen chains, I just pick up the next saw!

Left to right: Dolmar PS-7900 (built 2003.), Dolmar PS-7310 (built 2014), Dolmar PS-7300 (built 2006), Dolmar PS-6400 (built 2001).

These are still in production, with minimal changes, that speaks for itself.

Welcome to OPE!

That's what I needed, backup on the peer pressure, I figured bringing in a DOLMAR gun slinger couldn't hurt..
In all seriousness, I enthusiastically enjoy chainsaws of all manufacture, so whichever one's you choose for your first twenty will be groovy, I own saws from several manufacturers, with husqvarna being my go to back up.
Just keep us in the loop, and make lots of movie's...

PS, if I can make a suggestion on an alternate choice,
How about a

Very nice spread you’ve got there. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little jealous.

A nicely priced new Dolkita 9k was in the cards at one point last year.
It was just after I found out that Makita suspended the Dolmar brand in Croatia - I couldn't get over the smurf color scheme and let the opportunity pass by.

If it had been a Dolmar red PS-9k I'd had snatched her in half a heartbeat.

I generally have nothing against any other brand, each to his/her own! :)

Hello all, I am new to the forum but my brothers, @XP_Slinger and @RIDE-RED 350r have been members for awhile and have horn swaggled me into joining their saw building fun. I just recently picked up a 550xp and love it. But can’t wait to start tweeking it. Hopefully I will be posting a build thread for my 550xp. I’m also looking for a saw to resurrect and build for my first. Any suggestions are appreciated as to what I shouldn try to cut my teeth in building. Thanks all.
Welcome young man...and send all saws here to me in mid-Ga. It's way too cold up there for saws to run right, act right. I'll PM you my address where to ship the goods to!

I work for Navistar at a local dealer here. Wouldn’t touch a powerjoke or a durapad if my life depended on it. Diesels are suppose to be in-line. End argument. Lol!!

I've said it before, my FIL has a 6400 and a red and black Makita 421 and both of those impress me for the quality you get for the price. I've run his 6400 a fair bit and a ran the 421 for 10 or 15 minutes. I do really like the Dolly's and they would probably be my next in line if more dealers sold them around here. They just don't have the market presence in our area unfortunately :(

We all have too much natural rhythm to run Stihl...LOL! And Joe is the drummer...Literally.

Preach on brother, tell it like it is...

And tell your brother @skidder , if he's the drummer, I might could possibly equate the feel of a DOLMAR in terms he should be able to appreciate. And then he can in turn, then translate to the remaining brothers.
Sorry terrible with names, Joe=one of you!
I thought I had it figured out with Walt's vid,but now you throw another brother in so I'm lost, how about 1,2,and 3,
That's my kids names, except I have a 4 also...

DOLMAR=
