They do feel soft, that is the main reason I don't like a 372 or 390.
I like rubber mounts and a rigid saw.
Bucking they feel the same to me ,holding sideways with a diving board long bar they flex a bit more in my opinion .Weird to set them down and watch the engine jump around like girls on a trampoline also .

Yea if you don't like the soft 441 springs they sell stiffer ones. Same goes for the 372.

The rubber av is fine with me. The only saws that bother me are the ones without any av.
Damn straight!

This thread has turned into a Goldilocks meeting. This saw is too soft, this one is too firm, this saw is too heavy, this one feels too light.......good grief!

Most companies that buy the majority of these saws are not going to flip flop from one brand to another
Brand loyalty varies by area. Very few pros use Stihl's in this area, but other areas are the opposite. I don't think yiur argument holds water.

Thats probably true with a fair number of companies but i think there would be some willing to switch. everyone wants to get the most for there money and brand loyalty isnt as strong with everyone especially the company bean counters. Maybe they will drop the 441 when the new 462 comes out and just make one 70cc class saw and the 461 is a great saw but I would like to see it with prefiltration and spring av and of course less weight and more power are always welcomed. I hope they hit a home run with it and then I would get it over the 572 husky or 372 xpw
I wouldnt cont on on a home run for Stihl. They are behind the game so much so that a Court in the EU said Husky had to allow Stihl to use certain patents for competition reasons.

That's exactly what I was trying to say. If a logging outfit has all stihl they will.most likely keep running them. They won't cgange jusr cause some new cooler model comes out.

I'd say the smoothest saw I have is my 395xp
but my pm850 is a close second.

I wasn't complaining about vibs,I said I don't like how soft some feel cutting trees down.
The only saw I've ran that had to many vibs is a 090,one cut and my hands are numb.

A 660 was out of date for most of the time it was sold so I doubt the 461 will be replaced anytime soon.

And just what court was that? Curious that a court of law would have a Judge or Jury rule over EPA specs. What court so we can see this latest claim?

My experience with ported and stocker 441c that I have is that they burn very clean compared to the latest from other Stihls and Huskies.

The new Saws coming out will be interesting from both companies. It will be a threshold that either needs to be crossed or backtracked and old stock purchased to match one's lifetime.

I'm not sure the European Union gives a shat about the EPA.
And it had nothing to do with emmissions, just the technology involved in making compliant saws.
