I don't know why stihl would replace the 461. A new 441 would make more sense

Yep considering the 441 was introduced around 2006 ?

And a 461 is probably a timber fallers favorite current stihl ?..and its only been around since 2012 ?

261 and 362 get an update that look awful similar to that prototype 70cc saw ?

Seems all logic would say its a 441 version 2.0.

Bu you never know.

Thats probably true with a fair number of companies but i think there would be some willing to switch. everyone wants to get the most for there money and brand loyalty isnt as strong with everyone especially the company bean counters. Maybe they will drop the 441 when the new 462 comes out and just make one 70cc class saw and the 461 is a great saw but I would like to see it with prefiltration and spring av and of course less weight and more power are always welcomed. I hope they hit a home run with it and then I would get it over the 572 husky or 372 xpw

I hope they don't go all electronic on the new 462 though. I don't trust the electronics I think it would be more reliable without them. An example How many changes has the 661 had with coils ect...... love the 661 by the way great saws plan to have a masterminded one someday just using it as an example

stihl saws

You can always justify another saw.

It will be , it's the EPA that is to blame for most issues now and the saw companies are struggling to meet the bar set by them .
This has been the case for many years now and it won't change with saws , cars or anything else with a carbon footprint that the EPA regs effect .

I really enjoyed my Snellerized441 before the bottom blew apart lol.

It was bulky but the power to me was better than a 044. Filtration was better along with AV.... I believe it is still an underestimated saw.

I have a 461 and really need to get the 441 rebuilt.

I am all for another 441 production.

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

Completely agree.

I think the 461 may have more torque but overall day in and day out the 441 is my pick.

Of course the 461 is nothing to say no to. It will eventually become ported.

Still an 064 is also nice lol
