Myself and @Wood Doctor put a few tanks through the 562 today, mid-seventies. After fueling it up I pumped the prime a few times before putting the cap on. Started right up and ran like a champ. I think Edwin gave it a thumbs up as well.

My issue always happens 10-15 minutes after the saw is off. I have time to fuel up and start up again but given that time to sit thats when things happen. Have you tried this?

i also found the fuel line was touching part of the end of the case which gets real hot. I believe its a boss for mounting the base of the air box. Im wondering if you have noticed this?

Last time I used the saw it was in the nineties and would not start, even after letting it sit for close to an hour. So really great ideas coming that I hope to try at some point.

Understatement of the year. The saw performed like it was raring to go, and it delivered. Here's the felled pin oak tree that we worked on:

The oak was dry as a bone after having stood dead for three years. Virtually no rot, so it will sell and burn immediately. Another Pic:

The stump is to my left. I brought that in today with my 257 and had to noodle cut that stump into five pieces. We did go through two tanks of fuel with the 562. Temp was at 90 F and very high humidity. The saw's noodle cutting was superb with no ejection clogging. She started right up with very little hesitation on the second tank. I give this 562 and its owner an A+.

Any report on this?
First, I've never had an issue with Hot Start or Vapor Lock.
But today I took it out to give a haircut to a couple of weeping willows. Nothing strenuous, just limbing.
But the top cover was noticeably cooler on the carb side of the partition and air flow out the port seemed good.
Did a little more yard work this morning. Temp was 57F . Ran saw for about 20 minutes. Back at the shop I got out my Fluke infrared temp sensor to check top cover temps. I got a reading of 67F over the carb and 97F over the spark plug. I know it's hard to believe that the carb would only be 10F warmer than ambient.
Hope this helps, Fred

Nice to see this on the new 550 MK2. A air deflector as well as a thicker carburetor wall. A real air filter is a nice change too as well as the plastic spring mount that always broke was changed to metal...nice touch. 48D41DC2-7267-4262-9473-9551A8AA8E06.jpeg 562 needs updated badly... it’s been left in the 550/572’s dust.

Wednesday it was in the mid 80's and very humid. Probably the hardest I've run the saw noodling Oak to get on the splitter. I was at the wife's family cottage cleaning up a pile of dirt clogged logs that sat for a year. They're having a new septic system placed where these logs were piled. (Two siblings and a nephew, nothing gets done.)

No problems with the saw starting. Two and a half tanks of fuel, and five sharpening. Lots of start/stops of varying durations, splitting, cutting, noodling, splitting, sharpening, etc. Several breaks helping Margaret move splits with quad and trailer. She sucks at backing it up, being so short a trailer.
I did have trouble getting the cover off, as I had not index it properly the last time I put it on. It jammed at the rear handle.

All is good. Production at home has slowed, but almost ten gallons of fuel through saw.

Looking forward to my 550xpg, if it ever gets off backorder. LOL
