Nuthin' wrong with it. Looks like the typical re-branded Speeco splitter to me...just like Dirty Hands versions at Lowe's, County Line version TSC sells, etc, etc.

Little lost on the comment earlier about the Super Split HD that you would "still be splitting by hand"...
Speculation here but,, a kenetic is as fast as taking a swing with a maul on nice straight grained oak round. Bam and its split. No waiting for a ram to go in or out.

I never understood the thought behind that wood or splitter knowing where you are "peeling" wood from. And I've tried it twice deep frozen. Didn't make one lick of difference.
I might not have explained myself well enough Other Jason.
Please see drawing, this was how I was taught to deal with gnarly wood. Don't have your species tho so open to a gfy.

I love my kinetic, Subaru engine sips fuel unbelievably slow, cycle time is ridiculously fast, need 3 people to make it work hard. But that’s not its best attribute !

To me, no hydraulic fluid, hoses, problems to deal with, and no leaks !!!

Its got a rack & pinion that gets lubed once a year and two shaft bearings that get greased once a year too. No mess, no overheating fluid, adjustable return springs, super smoothe ……… Id suggest that you just try a few hydro units and a kinetic, then decide. Remember, none of us are getting any younger
Yep same with my super split hd. Pretty low maintenance and the Honda runs like a top. Splits most everything at about half throttle.

I thought the same initially, but that’s exactly what you want any splitter to accomplish…being a one hit wonder. The only hand involvement with a Super Split or any horiz only machine is lifting a round to the table and then either operating a hyd lever or simply pulling up on the lever of the SS to drop the rack into the flywheels’ pinion gear.

A 22 ton isn’t going to split a lot of the hickory or gum

That isn’t *B-S.... or stupid, it has happened several times with our splitters side by side.
Here's what you said, and most likely what @Woodpecker was referring to. I would agree that this is a stupid statement.

You have a habit of talking down the products or brands that are different than what you choose. You've done it on more sites than this one.

So are you telling me that my 20 ton splitter didn’t split literal tons of huge hickory, oak, gum, sycamore, elm etc.? Maybe you’d like to argue with me about it? You aren’t talking to folks here who believe any of the nonsense that you have been saying. Quite frankly I’m tired of fielding complaints about you. Maybe some time off in ban camp will suit you.

Yep…half to 3/4 or so throttle here as well. I’ve got a tach on mine and it’ll do about 3600 rpm wide open if I remember correctly but I rarely throttle it above 2000/2500 rpm, 3K at the most is all it’s ever seen.

Did the same thing with mine. Put one of those combo hour/rpm meters on it. Run it a RCH or two over 2k usually. Ran some elm through it recently and it just cuts through. Might have to smack it a couple times but at 2 seconds per who cares.

Meh you gotta spend at least 15k to get anything decent. Unless we’re talking hdtv’s then 10k sounds about right.:risas3:
Or just get some model paint and a 35 ton splitter, voila, 85 tons.

I had one of those "how's my driving" signs on my work truck. Made the 8 a B, the F an E, you get the idea. Never got a complaint about my driving. Lol

That’s pretty funny Larry. Would have been epic if you could have turned it into a GFY
