I have no idea on any of that yet. Bit after seeing dieselfiters stroker crank thread I figured I could pop the 1127 crank apart andtry to fit a 1128 rod on there. Bit of some had a 1128 rod length handy that would be great.
Changing the rod does nothing for stroke. You'd need to change the crank to change stroke. Or use an offset crank pin like dieselfitter did

I imagine it Cross Performance @Gentleman said there waiting on some first samples.
Man can't git no love. If we had an "atta boy" emoticon @Black Dog Chainsaw I'd give ya one. Here's some flowers instead lol:besos:
Thanks and yes I'm working with Shaun to make a couple prototypes. I just got in the OEM cylinders this last week so we will be getting a couple ready for production soon.

Makitas are hard to sell. 039's aint
Makita/Dolmar's are better period. The prices are changing a little but I'd still put my 6100 or 7900 up against anything Stihl has to offer... And smile when I know I paid a lot less for the same or better quality and performance. I sell off the Stihls b/c people will pay ridiculous amounts for them, and use the Makita's because they perform better!

Note to everyone: best seller doesn't equal best saw.

Yep. That's what I meant. Actually here, the 029 sells better. Homie sees an 039 on CL and thinks "Man, that's too big and heavy of a saw. I just want an 029". They sell here for about the same $, maybe even $25-50 more for an 029.

I'd be hard pressed to spend any more than $50 on a good running 170/180.

Got it finished. It's more of an 039 than a 029. Used a lot of parts off the carcass I had. Did a slight muffler mod also. I haven't fired it up yet. Will tomorrow. Thanks for the help.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

It is rewarding when you finally get one of those dang things back together! Like a Chinese jig saw puzzle. Had to undo about a half dozen things cause I did em in the wrong order.
