That 880 cylinder I had got from them originally looked better than that one...... I hope the squish and timing is good.

Looks good, keep us posted!

Will be interesting to see if that imitation Elastostart holds up .... I have had VERY BAD Luck with them in the past!

Seems like they keep making improvments.

Yea, I think that hole is for a top cover mount also! (Like the 461 has).

I got the crankcase put together. Whew those bearing and the crankshaft are definitely bigger and stronger then the 660. I had a rough time trying to get the crank centered. I had to do a lot more then just tap the crank. Almost was going to find a press…
But I let some oil seep in overnight and finally got
It moved into the sweet spot this morning.

How do you route and hook up the gas line and impulse line? Doesn't seem as straight forward as the 660…

Thinking about buying a 880 kit. Is there a list of parts that I need to buy so the saw will be dependable? What about the crank tool? Where can I get this. I would like to buy from a USA dealer. Is there a USA dealer who has all the better parts that need to be replaced?

It probably has same issues that 660 has. Stihl decomp and wrist pin bearing would probably be a good start. Possibly OEM or another brand crank seals. OEM impulse and fuel lines if you will be running ethanol gas.
