Interesting. Stihl too?
Dont know, i think husqvarna is going for maximum safety with the 565/572 after all these 5xx series problems. I mean look at the changes they made for heat reduction (exhaust, finns, cover). Bearings are huge too, noticeably bigger than on the 462 in comparison.

Honestly I know they have a following, but I have never been a 371/372 fan! I know I know. I would much rather run a jonsered 670 or a 272! They give up nothing in performance in my experience, they are built better, more compact, plus handle have a outboard clutch which I prefer! Oh and who can honestly stand the 372 exhaust note?
I’m pretty happy with my 2171.

I do a lot of new Huskys for a dealer up north. The muffler issue is so bad the I do an extra muffler for each 372 and 390 he sends.

And.....30% of all the 390XPs I did for him last year had the base bolts come loose. I've started using Stihl locking fasteners on then.

Why have you built so many then lol.

Ain't good business, to argue with the customer...if customer does not get what they want, they go else where seeking what they think will make them happy....

In re-watching those 2 videos Randy did, the 462 seems to be stuffed up in the muffler end. I bet once the port job and muffler mod is done the 462 will be a beast! [emoji106]
The Hooskie 572 was broke in already, the Stihl brand new. Gotta be sure to compare apples to apples.

Apples to apples?

You realize we are talking Husky vs Stihl right?

:D

I've got a serious pileup on my bench since I took almost two weeks off.......then ran over my dog. Yeah......I'm a little depressed about that.

As soon as I get a free spot I'll pull these things apart and post some pics. But......both saws have been undressed in threads on this forum.....so you can see them without me posting.

I'm not 100% sure, but of the few pictures I have seen of the 462 air filter, they look to be the same as, 241, 261, 362, air filter.

Maybe it is just the pics thou, and the 462 is just a bigger version of it?

Saw from a buddy, professional logger in southern germany (allgäu in bavaria), it's a ported 390xp with over 800h, five years old, engine is fine so far but it kill's mufflers!
It looked as though it had a few more than 3-4 months on it lol.
I guess that replacing a muffler now and then isn't to bad if they last that long.
I think I'd be having one custom built I was that hard on them.
