and don't forget the new autotune software! It cut's down the engine rpm a little bit on the 565/572xp on the first operating hours for break-in.
I always wondered about break in on the controlled carbs and if that had any hand in some of the failures that were being seen in the 5 series saws.

I like Dolmars (except the 5100/05)......and 2 series Husqvarnas. And the Echo 600 series. And most Stihls (except the MS880)

It's not a matter of brand loyalty.......it's a matter of calling a spade a spade.
Still sticks in my head the conversation we had about ported saws at the gtg. Dosent Matter how fast your saw is, the biggest hang up is getting the wood from the landing to the mill.

And we talked about how the saw is the least expensive tool a logger has. It amazes me that a guy will spend 100s of thousands of dollars on skidders and trucks, then cry about a 1000 dollar chainsaw. LOL

It's not that anyone is that hard on them. They are a *s-wordty weak ass design. I see it all the time.
They are harder on them than I am is what I meant, ie more daily use rather than firewood and a tree job here and there. Besides they would last a lot longer if they rotated a different saw in once every couple weeks and they had 30-40 saws lol.
I believe you as I have seen some failures myself, fortunately for me it doesn't look bad on me in any way.
Doesn't seem like it would be to hard for someone to come up with a design and have a great heavy duty muffler built and manufactured for them if someone had those kind of connections, me I'd just have one built if I was "that hard" on them.

Yeppp. Would rather do it on a stihl. Huskys design is better in the aspect they cant injest a muffler bolt like a stihl can.

Funny you should mention that. I've got a 461 I built about a year ago on the way back. It ate a muffler bolt. How the hell it came loose is beyond me.

I try and go over about every faster on my saws once every other week at least. It's nice just having to cut down now. We cut up with a tigercat loader with a bucksaw. Its great not cutting up in the landing by hand anymore. Less saw maintenance now.
