Guess I’m just old fashioned...

My go to is the 270 win.

Savage...

130 grain fodder unless varmint plinking..
Then it’s 110 grain hornady HP’s.

Accurate, but a pain in the ass to load.

By now you and Julian should have tested the temperature after 10 cuts with 10 different mufflers and 10 different oils and the saw 10 seconds faster than before porting. Yuse guys are slacking...

22" barreled 260 rem. I shoot a good group then I always come off the scope to check it out and I bork the last round.

I saw guns so hopefully this derailment is okay

I'm jumping off the tracks with ya!

I used to shoot a lot of long range stuff and Bench Rest back in Texas. I even took my varmint rig to a BR match in Denton once on a dare because I was bragging too much. Here's my 'short range'(200-500 yard) varminter built by Speedy in Denton.

Some of you from BR shooting will recognize some of the names on the list here. I placed 4th in the first round overall, 2nd place in my division(200 yard BR vs 100yd HTR/hunter class) on a very windy day. Placing in any round won me the bet, so I stopped while I was ahead. Hunter class had a huge advantage with 180-200+ grain 30 cals. I was using my standard varmint handloads; 65 grain VMAX on top of carefully groomed 6mm BR cases.

Ha I just stumbled upon this... Look at you with a Bender and the Area 419 brake! I can't id the rifle but if you still have this rig, you may see some accuracy consistency gain by installing an XLR buttstock or something similar...

Every dog has his day. I posted several groups. I shot that with hornady 260 box ammo, and you can't identify a rifle...

You are shooting an AI round that is already stupid fast, probably in a benchrest rig that does all the work for you carrying a 20# rifle. I used a Harris bipod and a accuracy first bag out of a gas gun.

Next you are gonna argue 3 vs 5 round groups.

So wait a second, I just re read 38 pages on the 462 and not one video of comparisons to other saws or a before/after porting!!!

I will tell you that my muff modded 462 is breaking in nicely, and in a very informal test (not the same B+C) it bested my 10 mm 044 (which, IMO, is very impressive).

It may have been side tracked for good reasons, but time to bring this thread back to life!

Nope no benchrest stuff here... everything I send is from a bipod or a practical position. Have a good one, I'm done.
