HELP! Ms441c Reset Trouble

I believe what I did is the correct reset procedure. But, towards the end I never heard it clean up and run smooth, and now it idles higher like it’s not getting enough fuel.

Just got the saw not long ago so I’m not sure, guessing it needs a solenoid and filter.

Depending on the year they came out with a warranty coil and carb.
Check your linkage from the carb to the strato butterfly, they can hang open slightly and throw the whole works out of tune.

I believe there are two different reset methods, and it depends on what year the saw is as to which one you use.

Well it’s a 2012 model I was told so I’m not sure what range of resets and such I should do.

So I just put a top end on a MS362c. Standard procedure I would think would be reset the electronics after the replacement and a few heat cycles.

The procedure for this flavor M-tronic I believe is 90 seconds of Choke/Start position and then shut the saw down with out touching the throttle.

How do I kill the saw with out touching the throttle as the choke position locks multifunction lever until the throttle is touched? I figure the idea is to hold up on the lever and touch the throttle moving quickly to stop with out really increasing RPM much.

Ran it yesterday it ran pretty good, idle acted up a couple times within 5 straight hours of cutting, so I won’t throw it in the river yet.

Glad to hear is seems to for the most part be running good!!

All ms 441’s are version one saws so it’s 45-90 seconds idle and shut off without touching throttle. Yes it could use a solenoid if never been changed that saw will have a black one so you will put a green in with new orange fuel filter then do a reset and should he good to go. Depending on use or lack of use the pump parts may need changing also since it’s still a carb with diaphragms to pump fuel.

I don’t think anything has ever been done to it. Guy cut some firewood with it and cut one log job with it. Then it sat for who knows how long.

The orange fuel filter is top of my list since it has a regular black/white filter still.
