Speaking of… what is the best plan for a stripped muffler bolt hole? Half the threads came out with the blessed lok tite (different application)

Are you talking about threads stripped from the case? I have two such situations and thought that a slightly larger hole and retapping was probably the only way to go...but this would be my first shot at it, not sure if there are any other/better methods.

Use a Helicoil repair of your choice if in aluminum. You will end up with stronger threads than original.
