Buddy of mine has an MS250...I know he runs .325 / 16” bar. Been a pretty solid little saw for a few years now. I don’t think he’s ever had any hiccups with it and he burns quite a bit of wood every winter in his fireplace.

For the 025 and MS250 the .325 on a 14 - 16" bar gets my vote, they have enough power to pull it well, the low profile/ picco stuff works better on smaller saws. The MS241 on down do alright with it.

241 has more stones than a 250.

But if I had to pick I'd agree on .325 for durability alone.

The .325 clears the chips and debris better when cutting green /wet wood, the 241 clogs up and the chain spins without cutting well. Likely different results when cutting dry or different types of wood. Green pine, fir and spruce cut differently than our hardwood, the.325 just cuts better for us.

Lemme see it
My bad, it's 14in . 16inch was newly listed on ebay for 28.95 shipped tonight though, may be you can score 1 or more of them.
I noticed the nose on a gb power tech is near a half inch shorter then a stihl bars nose. Any chance that is an advantage to not through chains when bumping into the stringy brush while cutting? Looks to me it might be the other way around but i might try it in case i am wrong.
