All the small, ma & pa dealers around here stick to MSRP.

But a few of the big dealers in Denver will wheel & deal with you, most times they will knock $100 - $125 off the bigger pro saws without any asking, twist their arm a bit... or show them you have cash, they will knock $150 off the top of the big saws.

I'm not in the market for a 462 thou....

I saw a 462 out here at a dealer a few weeks ago, with a 36" bar on it.

I asked the counter guy, they spec them for a 36?

He pulled out his book, and showed me, stihl (at least in this area) has them listed in the book with all the way up to a 36" bar.

They had some money off the remaining 461R . That what I pick up. Pho $860.00. 461 and 36 inch bar more like it

That size bar and chain wouldn’t work downunder on our seasoned hardwoods.

I think that hanging a long bar like that defeats the purpose of this saw. For giggles I put the lightest 32” bar on it (without the chain even) and it just felt awkward. I’m not planning on going longer than 25” personally. EF97C66D-0831-475E-923B-6E785D4A9698.jpeg

I can only imagine, I never handled or touched that 462 I saw, and it had a regular ES bar, not a light weight. I am sure it was nose heavy.

462 with a 20” light bar is what I when with , comparing it to my 361 20” light bar , the 462 is a lot heavy then I expected it to be. Between this two.

The saw shares the same oil pump with the 500i and they can handle a 36 very well

But can the saw pull a 36 is more the question I think. Seems Stihl has flipped the script on this saw in terms of the oiling capabilities. Used to be that a Stihl could pull a longer bar than it could oil and now it (the 462) can oil a longer bar than it can comfortably pull.
