If you have a few of these saws Id be happy to work out a deal helping.
I don't
This one ain't even mine.
Belong to an arborist friend of mine.

1) intake boot was badly torn and partially cooked the top end
2) muffler bolt broke off inside cylinder

Any luck getting it drilled out and out of there yet?

LW what's your take on a base gasket delete for these, worth it? Or any mods for that matter?

I'm torn on the delete on a 200t. It does like the "snap" with added compression but the few I've done were a little tough to start. The added compression added some "oomph" needed to start em. While on the ground, that isn't an issue but in a tree leaning in on a flip line I'm not sure any added effort to start a saw would be appreciated. IMO
That being said, I've never owned a new one so I can only tell you that once rebuilt fully, the saw runs frikn awesome.

Are the seals that really a PITA or.......?

Jeremy, the seals are not that tough but you kinda need the Stihl instal tooling. I believe the shoulder on the seal instal tool is wider then a "socket" and makes the instal "true" and does not break the Bakelite.
Also the key way "cover" install tool works great too.
I have both if you decide to try. Gladly loan them to you.

Also I watched Wolfies Bakelite seal removal trick, pretty frikn sharp if ya ask me. I'm sworn to secrecy though. We pinky swore !!! Funny as we both had the Stihl seal removal tool and didn't use them. $400 idle dollars...

Ask Def Dave about me.
Ol' LW is first class and willing to put up with a dickweed like me so you know he has the patience of a saint too :)
Come on!!! he posted pics of the pressure and vac test, half the guys checking out the thread are probably wondering why that saw only has 10 pounds of compression :)

I think I found the problem.......

Jeremy,
just thought of it but if the boot is broke like that there is a good chance the bushings are shot and that lead to the boot failure. check the kill switch wires too for continuity.
they get pulled on as the bushings wear as well.
how ya doin with the rebuild so far ?
