That Apple is beautiful!
Milling is an addictive hobby. You never know what you're going to find when you slice open the tree. I was noodling the base rounds to ease the lift and saw this.

I'm really close to joining you guys on the milling adventure. I just put the mill together that I bought myself for Christmas. I can't wait to put it to work!

Tried out my new bar today. The rakers are too high for noodlin hickory, had to pry on it to get the chain to really bite. Frigin new chains:rolleyes:. That aside I really like my bar, there is a noticeable improvement in balance compared to my brothers 394 with the same length but non lightened bar.

I think those are the biggest apple trees I’ve ever seen. Talk about an awesome opportunity to get some rare sized slabs.
Growing up as a kid the county I live in was touted as the apple capitol of the world. You can see these bigguns are no longer healthy. But yes, we did seize the opportunity. Tapped out at 55 for firewood and milled a bunch.

Wow...that’s incredible. What state are you in? If you don’t mind me asking.
