Welcome to the Mcculloch 123cc club, Looks like you found a nice CP125S, Ask any questions you like.
There are a few of us here that have been in these saws many times.
That’s a nice cp125s! Looks really original too! Welcome, and ask away!

We should be able to help with anything you need on your CP-125 project. There's quite a few years of McCulloch experience just among the guys in this thread.

Thanks for the welcome!
I've found out this beast will run on prime! Piston looks fine. The intake boot is broken as usual, like other threads I read.
Is this the two pedal reed? I haven't seen a pic of the big single reed you gentlemen said as the original CP125 come with the single one.20211210_142736.jpg
Ordered carb kit because

Your model is a cp125s, lts a later version, and may have come with the dual reed setup, or someone changed it

On that boot if you have all of it it can be repaired .Loctite makes a product ,401 which is used to glue o-rings together which are Buna n rubber same as the boot .The repair point will be stronger than the material .

Did a little prep for tomorrow. Cut some gaskets, I kinda enjoy it! The paper punch is pretty handy for bolt holes!! D24C426B-609D-4214-A888-6DF841425822.jpeginstalled the impulse barb, red loctite and clear epoxy, stated truing the surfaces, going to need a little more work! Today was a struggle! The oil tank I was planning on using had stripped oil pump threads, so plan b! Lol missing a few more bolts, and make the air filter mount. Still happy with progress 16B123CF-CE8F-484A-B5C5-8454068B18A5.jpeg42B73950-DECA-4EC7-892F-0F5BF129D23F.jpeg8545E1E8-2EF0-460B-BCBC-7DFE93EF85A6.jpeg40442B32-FAB9-4951-92AC-B0675E9642DE.jpegE2BA784E-3939-4EC2-86EA-04EA881431A1.jpeg
Going to need the long starter ratchet and the inner tin cover behind the clutch and a falling dog, but I think I will try to fire her up tomorrow

My CP125S has the hole in it though. Not sure if it's there from the factory. But the throttle trigger has an adjustment screw for something.

That's the set-screw for adjusting the throttle position for the high idle/start function.

Thanks, this saw is a mutt! It’s actually a Sp125 mostly. I would love to get an older clutch cover too, but am happy to have it he part i have!

I kinda wanted to build it as a cp125s clone, want to tear it back down and powdercoat everything if she is a runner

The tall handle does look kind of weird though - like a short person wearing a stove pipe hat.
